Professional Music Services

Alto Productions provides professional music services throughout the United Kingdom. The core of our work is managing two independent professional orchestras; British Sinfonietta and the Welsh Session Orchestra. We also provide session musicians for studio recordings, musical theatre pit bands and professional musicians for corporate events.

We take full responsibility for contacting, booking and paying all of the musicians involved in our engagements. Regular contact is maintained with the Musicians' Union to ensure industry-approved rates are used.

The orchestra is involved in a variety of engagements including choral concerts, orchestral concerts and televised events. In 2011 the orchestra accompanied choirs at concerts in London, Cumbria, Wiltshire and throughout Wales. Plans for 2012 include choral concerts in Cardiff and London, a televised concert at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod with Welsh tenor Wynne Evans, and a televised concert performing Karl Jenkins' major new work The Peacemakers conducted by the composer.

The orchestra's outstanding brass section also performs concerts as British Sinfonietta Brass Ensemble.

Since forming in 2010 the WSO has been featured on albums with Côr y Penrhyn, Côr Godre'r Garth, West End star John Owen-Jones and the Three Welsh Tenors (Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall and Alun Rhys-Jenkins). The majority of these sessions have featured musical arrangements by John Quirk, one of the UK's most respected arrangers and musical directors, who has also conducted the orchestra on numerous occasions.

The WSO complements its studio work with live work for musical theatre productions and on-stage performances with world-class pop and rock artists.
